Mom and daughter were incredibly kind, always smiling, and genuinely helpful, making me feel like part of their family from the very first moment. The room was simple but very clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. What really made the difference was the warm hospitality: sharing meals, stories, and local advice gave me the chance to experience authentic Sri Lankan culture in a way that no hotel could offer. The location is also great, close to the ancient city and easy to reach by bike or tuk-tuk. Breakfast and dinner prepared at the homestay were delicious, with fresh and traditional dishes full of flavor. Kody the Host is very friendly and helpful. He and his wife make excellent breakfast and delicious rice and curry (never had such a good curry). Kody is also a tour guide and can give advice where to go in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is spacious and clean.

The guesthouse is close to the main sites. Ravi makes delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. He even made us a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early for elephant safari. Ravi organized bikes for us to use to see the ruins. He also set up an elephant safari with an excellent guide, Shiron. He was knowledgeable and showed us some incredible birds. He had a knack for getting us in the right spots for elephant viewing and was respectful to give the elephants space. Highly recommend a trip with him. We also recommend the morning trip as he said in the afternoons sometimes there are 200 jeeps!
