One can walk at low tide to Nilaveli beach (15 min walk). Brenda was a perfect, talkative and helpful host as well as an excellent cook. One can refill bottles with a drinking water at the property. Nice well equipped huts with comfortable bed. 10 and 15 min by tuk tuk to Upuveli and Trinco, respectively. Surprisingly no mosquitoes (the first place without them during our 3 weeks travels in Sri Lanka). If you look for peaceful quite oasis this place is for you. Highly recommended!

This recently renovated guest house is located 5.4 km from Trincomalee Railway Station and 6.5 km from Kali Kovil. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. We had a fantastic experience at Hilton cottage. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom has hot water. The owner friendly and always obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff are lovely. It is close to the restaurants and easy walking distance to the beach. I would highly recommend Hilton cottage if you are looking for a quiet, pleasant stay in Trincomalee.
