Firstly, the location is in a bit of an industrial area, so it feels a bit grungy and the sidewalks are broken. But the hostel itself is fantastic. It has a pool, a nice kitchen, good places to hang out. And the rooms (although some guests like to use their phones without pods or headphones) are great. Private. Shower was really good. And the rooms are nice and cool. Staff were really nice as well.

On our first trip, we stayed at a place for twice the price with half the comfort. We were elated to find Casa Equinox far exceeded expectations! Our room had icy cold AC, perfectly clean bedding and bathroom, a lovely rain shower, and the comfiest bed we slept in during our whole Mexico trip. They also stocked the room with thoughtful touches like toiletries, blow dryer, iron, extra blankets, and even a Nespresso machine with pods! The balcony was a perfect place to drink our morning coffee and enjoy the fresh air before it got too hot out. The quiet neighborhood was the cherry on top. I cannot say enough good things, and we will DEFINITELY rebook if/when we are back in Mérida!

It is run by a friendly and caring family. Walkable distance to the town centre. Breakfast was included with our stay and they insisted on waking up early to prepare it even though we had to wake up early to drop off our rental car in Cancun. Parking is on the property behind a closed gate. I would definitely stay here again.
