I have been fortunate to travel to many places over the years and this is one of the most genuine experiences I have had. It is based in a local area, a lot more calm than busy Thamel and gives you more insight into how local people in Kathmandu live. You can walk into Thamel or can get a taxi/bike easily with the inDrive app. The rooms are comfortable, there is very good wifi and there is an incredible view from the rooftop. Nir and his family will really look after you, but at the same time give you as much space as you need to do your own thing. They will make it feel like your home where you can relax and whatever you do, try their meals in their kitchen…..you will not regret it! I thoroughly recommend a stay at peace homestay.

Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The best homestay I've ever stayed in.. Prem and his family are the greatest people I've met in Nepal ( and I mean it!!). You will have an opportunity to stay with many locals and share about their culture. A lot of cute kids were always playing around, so the place was really lively. The food was excellent and the room & bathroom were sparkling clean! The village of Namobuddha is very authentic and the scenery stunning. If you're lucky enough, you will also have the opportunity to meet Ian who lives there and runs a charity association to provide water pipelines for remote villages. Trust me, go there ...that's the kind of place you will never forget.

The property has quiet street views and is 200 metres from Bhaktapur Durbar Square and 12 km from Patan Durbar Square. The accommodation features airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. The host, Nivan was one of the best hosts I’ve met. He took such pride and care into his guests, he toured us around at his own will and time, providing lovely knowledge and history in the culture of Bhaktapur. He even invited us to join him on his meditation, which was an experience in its own. I stated during the time of Dashain, a festival in Nepal. Nivan hosted a family dinner, which was delicious, and very traditional, as he explained they only eat like that during festivals. 10/10 experience. The location is also perfect, as you are a one minute walk from the square, and can see that along with the beautiful Himalayas, on the rooftop, where Nivan will most likely bring you tea, and explain more of the history and culture behind it. If you are looking for a good cultural experience, a good view, good location, anything, this is the place for you!!

It is set 20 km from Pashupatinath and offers bicycle parking. Free private parking is available and the homestay also provides car hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our stay at Jungle Crown. The hosts were lovely, food was delicious and we especially loved the location! If you're a nature lover, this is a place for you. We used local buses to move around, which was a very positive experience as well. Our hut was equipped with everything we needed.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Tise Hotel is a recently renovated guest house situated in Kathmandu, 600 metres from Boudhanath Stupa. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The guest house has family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. I booked for 5 nights but ended up staying longer there. I liked everything about the hotel. Staff was very caring and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean, they provide cleaning service everyday. Very good breakfast was included. And just a few min walk to Boudha stupa. I would like to come back there!

There is nice view of the stupa from the terrace. The room is kept clean by the housekeeping staff. The prices are definitely unmatchable. Great value for money.

Shine Homestay Famille Francophone - Shine Home and Apartment, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Kathmandu, 2.5 km from Swayambhu, 2.9 km from Kathmandu Durbar Square, as well as 3.6 km from Swayambhunath Temple. We stayed at Shine Homestay as a group of 16 people, and everything was simply wonderful. Rabina and her family made us feel truly at home: their kindness, calm energy, and attention to detail created a peaceful haven in the middle of Kathmandu’s lively chaos. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the rooftop offered a lovely space to relax, and breakfast was fresh and generous. Communication with Rabina was always easy and warm, both before and during our stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic hospitality and genuine connection with local life.
