This was especially so as Air Tahiti decided to go on strike and Tahia was happy to run us back and forth to the airport to rearrange our flights. We stayed for two weeks in French Polynesia and in some fancy hotels. However, this place was by far the best in terms of feeling welcome and feeling the warmth of Polynesian people. The bungalow is super clean, modern and has a range of cooking facilities. The host prepared us some wonderful dinner for a very reasonable price that we enjoyed with a most beautiful view of Papeete. The host also picked us up at the airport and dropped us off again in the middle of the night for our flight home. It was just the perfect way of finishing our holiday.

Tamanu Lodge is a great property located very close to the airport! It is also close to a shopping mall and restaurants. The room was very clean, big and had all necessary equipment for a comfortable stay. The owner Vanina is an amazing person with a very generous and kind heart. She will make you feel at home and comfortable, make sure to chat with her! I’ll definitely be back on my next Tahiti trip!

It’s not a 5-star hotel, it’s better in my opinion—a genuinely loving family home. The hostess sang for me a beautiful welcoming song about coconuts! That is special.
