We were warmly welcomed by the hostess, and were offered a traditional Slovenian dish for dinner. There’s a very cosy atmosphere where guests are invited to get together and share stories. It’s definitely worth going for a few days, and hiking the trails on top of the mountain.

Alenka is a gracious, experienced, professional host who is available and helpful. We were a little apprehensive knowing that we'd be sharing the bathroom and kitchen with other guests; however, we ended up having a great time with them, and the shared bathroom was not a problem. The kitchen is well-equipped with dishes, utensils and pans, although two burners and no oven for 6 people is a stretch. Parking on site was safe and convenient.

Everything was amazing, really clean, easy check in, good food with reasonable price, really nice hosts and amazing view from our room. Out of curiosity i read the bad reviews and many of them mention the gravel road. I am a bit surprised that people use gravel road to reach the destination as a criteria to rate the place itself. Also what does one expect from a mountain lodge??? Anyways, we had a great stay, 3 min hot water was absolutely enough and I loved that the place was environmentally friendly.

It was a pleasant stay, the host was really kind and helpful. Our room had everything as described and was clean. Great location, you can see the mountains from the windows and access a cute balcony, the lake is located a couple of minutes walk from the accommodation, also a lot of hiking trails in the area.

Wonderful host who has thought about absolutely every little detail. Good room with wide bed and nice balcony with a fridge, water kettle, a box with crockery and cutlery, a cutting board, a bowl for washing-up, washing-up liquid, tea towel and kitchen paper. I did some washing by hand in a bowl the landlady kindly lent me. She would have done our washing in her machine, but it wasn’t much and I preferred to do it myself. Very friendly couple that have hosted visitors for my years. The location is also great: good views from the balcony, situated on a high street but never noisy. On the Juliana Trail which we were walking. Not far from lake Bohinj and Ribcev Laz. Stara Fuzina is beautifully located.

The town was reachable by both the arriva bus that runs regularly and the 2euro Bohinj tourist bus that runs in high season. The accommodation was perfect for us as it was so close to Triglav national park and the starting points of major hikes. It had everything you need including a mini fridge, table and chairs, private washroom, wifi and a tower fan. The host was even nice enough to let us use her kitchen to cook meals. She treated us at check in with a nice cold drink and highlighted some of the great things to do around the area proving us with a map and hiking routes. Of all the countries we have been to in Europe, Slovenia probably does tourism the best making the national park so easily accessible. 10/10 recommend this place as home base for exploring the park.
