Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Modern, clean, great little place to stay and excellent value. Completely renovated former jail turned into hostel. I had a private room with my own bathroom tho there are group rooms with shared facilities like any hostel. My room twas small with bunk beds but super modern priced at excellent value in a central location. Bring a lock to store your touring bike in a communal garage. Highly recommended.

This is a nice little hostel, not far from the Chur train station. People know it by the name Sennhof. It was a prison till 2020, now converted into a hostel. Its impeccably clean. There is a common kitchen with all utensils, a common community room with a small library and a big TV. There are lots of common toilets and bathrooms in addition to the ones int room (not there in dormitory), which are spotlessly clean.

The hostel is in a great location and within easy walking distance from the train station - follow the information in the email that they send, not google maps. Everything you need is there. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Fantastic use of an historic building. It caters for different kinds of travellers from en-suite and budget hostel type rooms. Great facilities (inc communal kitchen, communal room and work space in the tower, and baggage storage. And the staff were really helpful. Our room was one and a half of the old prison cells. The bathroom was in the half a cell.

Wonderful 15 minute stroll from station.
Three steep flights of stairs takes you to a lovely oasis with several rooms and shared bathrooms. Open windows keep you cool and deliver spectacular views-without too much noise Sunday to Wednesday. Cheapest place we could find in Chur but still expensive for the budget traveller.

The newly opened prison-turned-hostel is a great(&stylish) place to stay between the Swiss scenic train routes. Great staff, facilities and bunk beds with curtains that don’t creak and give privacy; also a kitchen is available!

Fantastic find! We chose it for the novelty of staying in a prison but it exceeded expectations; great location in the old town, 10 mins from station, warm room, super comfortable beds and amazing shower! As it’s brand new everywhere was clean and well presented - great facilities in the kitchen and lovely extras we weren’t expecting from a hostel - such as shower gel / hairdryer.
