Great staff, wonderful view, breakfast was a lifesaver and more comprehensive than I thought it would be, wasn't even that bad walking up the hill from the train station.

The host is incredibly nice and helpful! The hostel is very clean and well equipped and the breakfast is great (I read some comments hoping that could be richer.. but I think we are in a hostel not in a seven star hotel, it’s already better than it should be). The view from the garden is totally another bonus. I would suggest you hike up the hill (it’s not that crazy sincerely) and enjoy the view along the way! The bed is comfortable and to be honest I slept better than other nights in hotel. I would come back again for sure!

It was one of the best hotel experiences of my whole life. Yes, this is a hotel located 2,200 meters above sea level, but the quality of the services is on another level, and I feel that I am in a good 3-star hotel. The staff is so friendly and makes every effort to help everyone feel at home. The dinner menu was so tasty and it was the perfect choice for the end of the evening. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. The Berggasthaus First was my complete dream of sleeping in a wonderful place in the Alps. Also, the property is incredibly clean and comfortable to stay. It was a quiet place at night, and we slept like "babies". Everything was perfect, and the communication with Yanis and Julien was a gift from God. There are so many funny stories and positive vibes. I won't forget that, and if I visit the Grindelwald area again, it's a must for me to return to Berggasthaus First. Best Regards

Location was amazing, plenty of common space, good internet, very friendly staff, breakfast included some hot foods, super quiet coffee machine (a pet peeve of mine to hear loud grinding in the morning…)

The host Marsielle is very hospitable. The apartment is cosy & clean; the kitchen is well equipped. The bus stop is just a few minutes' walk away. It is very convenient to go anywhere and yet a quiet environment. We rented 4 bikes from the host for half a day & biked to Iseltwald. The rental was CHF10/bike/half day, very reasonable. We highly recommend this accommodation.
