Cranky Croc is a wonderful hostel in the historical city center of Bogota! It is a nice place to meet fellow travellers from all over the world. We appreciated not only our stay but also the multiple options of tours you can book at the hostel directly. We did the famous hike to the tallest waterfall in Colombia - La Chorrera and it was just epic! The hostel itself is very home-like with the main room and seats around the table so you can always find someone to talk to and make new friends. Not counting happy friendly staff.

Exceptional staff who made my stay amazingly pleasant (the owner is fortunate to have such incredible staff who lift the rating from 9/10 to 10/10)!, facilities were perfect - modern, comfortable & clean, location was excellent & within short walking distance to all local restaurants & amenities! Overall, this was excellent value for money. I would strongly recommend this property if you're staying in Bogotá ☺️🙏🏽

This was my second time staying at this hostel — it’s perfect. A beautiful three-story building with a glass ceiling where you can see and hear the rain. There’s also an attic rooftop area where breakfast is now served. We booked a private room with a shared bathroom. The showers and toilets were always available, everything was quiet, and the staff was very helpful. And of course, the most unforgettable part is the breakfast made by the chef. It was included in the room price, which made the overall cost feel very reasonable.

The hostel was in a good state and clean. The breakfast offered was simple but tasty and the location meant you can walk to La Candelaria, the touristic centre of Bogota, so it is very convenient.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
