Staff was super helpful from the beginning to the end! They allowed me to enter my room a bit before check in time, and they were kind enough to take care of my bag with valuables at the reception. They did movie night and adapted to the guests suggestions and wishes. The buffet was great. The chime button to enter the buffet broke, and i saw them fix it before my breakfast was over! The location was a short walk from anywhere of interest! And the building was gorgeous, from the historical core till the up-to-date interior design. It felt very warm and comfortable at all times.

Really clear communication about check in, clear and helpful directions, really nice staff. Very clean facilities felt very safe. Nice common room with clean little kitchenette (microwave, refrigerator, cutlery plates and a few spices) that make saving money preparing food a breeze. Thank you very much for my stay!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location on the Camino del Norte (camino arrow is across the street from front door). I think it Is one of the first hostel accommodation places as you come into Bilbao from Gernika. Modern decor. Free breakfast (juice, muffins, museli, cornflakes, chocolate flakes type cereal, toast with 4 types of jam and honey). Bunkroom had large locker (use own padlock or can borrow a lock from reception). Clean linen (make up own bed). Locker has a power point inside for charging. Has kitchen, dining and lounge areas (which also have charging points). Bunk bed was stable and comfortable (no problem if other person on other bunk turns over) and a privacy screen on one side. Bunkroom had huge windows with views of the Begoña Basilica and the windows open wide for fresh air. Bunkroom was quiet in the night. Eroski supermarket few minutes walk away. On-site hostel laundry not working but modern self service laundromat (El Calcetin Perdido) just near Eroski supermarket about 5min walk from hostel. €7 wash, €3 dry for 16mins. Showers on a timer, (but can push button again if need more water) bathroom light is also on a timer. It is a little up the hill from the old town but I didn't find the hill a problem. Great wifi. Used the correos luggage transfer service to /from this hostel and it went smoothly.

I was very apprehensive before arriving in Bilbao as the reviews for this place are not the best. On a close to 2 months road trip across Spain this was by far the cheapest place I had booked, the reason being: everything is very expensive in Bilbao and the type of flat I normally book were all around 200 euros/night, well over my budget. Well from the arrival to my departure 5 nights later I truly enjoyed my stay. I was met by one of the staff who helped me unload my car. I travel with a dog, had loads to unload, fantastic to have help. I got help when I left too. I really appreciated it! The room was great, warm, large and super clean, with a nice big bathroom, all very clean too. True the kitchen isn't on the same floor as the rooms but I didn't find it a problem at all. I ate inside everyday I think. My dog just loved the corridors. I thought the place was very quirky, it's an old factory building and some features remain. The staff, all of them, were extremely friendly and helpful all through my stay. I really don't understand why this place has so many negative reviews! Some people have unrealistic expectations! The price for one night is cheaper than eating out!!!!! And for that I had a room with 4 bunk beds, a sofa, a cupboard, a set of drawers.......enough space to live comfortably! Wifi works well, plenty of hot water. And smack in the center of town in a nice district. Don't trust the bad reviews. If I go back to Bilbao I'll be staying there again that's for sure!
