This hostel is perfect. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and come with a fan. There’s also a rooftop where you can do yoga or just hang out and have a good time with friends. It’s a quiet, relaxing place and very well located close to Varkala Beach and Black Sand Beach, one of the calmest beaches in the area. From here, you can walk north along the entire coastline, which is a really beautiful experience. I totally recommend it.

Lovely, peaceful stay here. Good location near the beach. Nice common room and comfortable bed. Very helpful staff who pointed out the occasional theatre show in town which I was very happy to attend. Hopefully I can come back soon!

I stayed there for a week and it was lovely. The place is really clean, the rooms are nice and the common areas are great. They really care about their guests and it was a good place to stay, close to the cliff but not in the middle of the Varkala tourists chaos. Thank you all so much for everything!!!

Everything was perfect as long as you go expecting a hostel - rooms are large clean and airy, we made friends for life (who are always welcome back in London!) and the staff are amazing. So friendly and keen to help. The food is a smaller menu but way more than you usually get in hostels and fantastic - such good value for money. Can’t recommend enough. Location is great too - it’s on south cliff so a beautiful part of beach and away from from the busy more touristy north cliff but still easily close enough to walk there as well as it is into town for any essentials. They even have purified water tanks to use the only place in India where we had safe water we didn’t have to buy! Can’t recommend enough. Thanks guys!!! Xo

Yes Hostel in Varkala isn’t just a place to stay it’s a vibe, a community, and for me, a turning point. As a first time solo traveler, I was unsure about the whole hostel experience. But trusting my instincts and booking four nights here turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I arrived, I felt a genuine sense of belonging that completely changed my perception of hostel life. Harish, the host, is incredibly welcoming and made me feel at ease right away. Shafeeq, the ever jovial chef, brought laughter and warmth to every moment. Vineesh, the creative soul behind the hostel’s quirky art, added a splash of personality to the space. And Steven, a fellow traveler from Hyderabad, became an unexpected companion whose presence made my stay even more memorable. They helped me plan my daily itinerary and even included me in their evening hangouts walking along the cliffside beach, sharing stories, and playing endless rounds of badminton. And then there’s Angel, their adorable indie dog, who added an extra layer of comfort and companionship to my stay. She’s the kind of furry friend who makes a place feel like home. This experience completely reshaped my perception of hostels. What started as a solo trip ended with me gaining a second family. I’d choose Yes Hostel again in a heartbeat no second thoughts, no regrets. If you're looking for a place that’s not just comfortable but also filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable company, this is it. I highly recommend this recently-opened hostel with a lovely personnel ready to help. All amenities are new and clean. There is a nice rooftop space with a nice view toward the sea.

Great hostel with great staff. Everyone was super welcoming, especially Abi who took us out to local food spots, and Luisa with her yoga recommendations. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the common area was chill and sociable. The hostel is only 5mins away from the cliff, so its close to things but also quiet.
