The accommodation blends into the beautiful natural jungle and beach landscape and feels perfect for the setting. Be advised that it is a bit rustic but there's a shower and a flushing toilet and our bed was really comfortable. There are no plug points in the room but you can charge your devices in the dining area. A mosquito net is provided which was great as it meant we could leave the windows open for a cooling sea breeze at night. We were a stone's throw from the water but also surrounded by trees, it was magical. The staff were helpful and friendly but unobtrusive. The food is traditional Khmer cuisine and everything we had was delicious and made with a lot of care. There are also a few other resorts in the bay that serve different food styles. Sunset Beach is more remote than some of the other bays on the island and does not have a ferry port or really much other boat traffic making it perfect for swimming, paddling and snorkeling. This does mean that you have to hike in to the accommodation but it's completely manageable, just be sure to pack in a backpack rather than a suitcase or kit bag. All the pertinent information and directions are sent out in an email as soon as you book. This stands out as one of our best beach holidays, highly recommended.

This was the most amazing place I’ve been to on my travels so far. Koalama felt like home, the place really has a personality and is not just an average hostel. The atmosphere is so nice, with the music changing every day and catching exactly the vibe of the guests. Delicious drinks, fun games, perfect chill out area and most importantly absolutely amazing, likeminded people! Thanks Fred, for making me feel so welcome and creating such a wonderful place. It is a good hostel front to the beach, the share room there are a comfortable beds and clean bathrooms, there are a very good food also and the desk boys so many gentle and happiest! We recommended!

I was satisfied with my stay in this place. Considering the offer on the islands, you can’t expect luxury. The room was basic but spacious with a private bathroom and clean towels. The common area was lovely, very relaxing and the staff, Marta and Volkan, were real sweethearts, making sure you feel welcome and doing it in a very natural way. It’s a place were you’ll meet new people and were you’ll be very close to a beautiful beach.

It is owned by a Lovely couple. My friend and I stayed in the tent and it was better than we expected. It really helped that it was on a platform under a roof. We had a fan and outlets in the tent. It was really clean and the bed was confortable. They also have a very good restaurant with amazing local food! Highly reccomend!
