Nomad hostel was a nice, clean and comfortable place to stay in Almaty. Hostel team was very friendly and helpful. Location is very central, next to the Dostyk plaza shopping mall. ATM, banks, coffee shops, restaurants pharmacy, post office, good public transportation system are around the hostel. Shared space: There is a common shared kitchen with everything needed for cooking and storage, tables, chairs and sofas for having food and chatting with other travelers. Complimentary tea and coffee is available in the kitchen. My room was nice. Comfortable bed with clean bed sheet, pillow case and blanket cover has been provided. There are lockers with digital lock in the room. Each bed had own light, shelf and socket at the bed, which was great. There was a bathroom with shower and toilet in my room. Wi-Fi worked very well everywhere in the hostel. Hostel provides laundry service and towel for separate payment. Cleaning lady does wet cleaning of the hostel every day. Changing shoes: It is a local culture to put off street shoes as local street roads are dirty. Hostel provides clean shoes for changing and wearing inside of the hostel. I was taking them with me when I was going out, so I knew that nobody took my home shoes and wore. Overall, my Nomad hostel stay was very comfortable and pleasant that I extended my stay. I can recommend it for everyone.

Koksay hotel is like our own house with a yard. The owner Asia is a very kind lady who cares about our lives and helps us in time. She lets us use the kitchen and washing machine and tells us where to go shopping and eat. The room is very clean and tidy, looks very new, and the heating is very comfortable. Snow-capped mountains can be seen from the window. The villagers are also friendly. But the biggest surprise is that the landlord is very nice. It costs about 4,500 tenge to take a taxi to Panfilov, and the price varies at different times. There is an aport mall 3.6 kilometers away, which is enough for shopping.

Very easy going and budget-friendly. We came back to the same hostel after a 2-day trip to Charyn canyon and Kolsay lakes. Some other travellers we met in the trip stayed also at the same hostel. So all in all it was nice for the atmosphere and the people for good talking and sharing experiences and traveling tips.

Great location!! Very Central and close to many cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. Great cooking facilities. The hostel was very spacious and kept very clean. Washing facilities available and very cheap.
