First of all upon arrival to the hostel it was very very appealing from the road, I felt like I was arriving to a fancy condo in the states 🤣 Chavvy & Shailie were amazing, they made me feel so welcome that I really left feeling like I have family, from good laughs to even dropping me off at the bus stop because I was a little nervous - tremendous. I put my hammock up in the garden which the caretakers helped with & was astonishing to simply be in the amazing garden with such diverse wildlife (there was even a local peacock!) I only booked this hostel because I'm a travelling yoga teacher and needed somewhere calm to practice & teach - Alma hostel allowed me to do just that, with excellent ifi and many spaces to teach from whether the garden, the upstairs lobby/co-working space or even my room was big enough. My all time favourite thing about Alma's was the interior design - like wow. Everything was custom made with wicker/bamboo and the interior was exceptionally clean - I genuinely felt like I was crashing at my own place. Loved it so much.

It was the newest, cleanest and friendliest hostel I've ever stayed in. Honestly, I'm impressed. The dorms are air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms with basic toiletries. No towel was provided though - but not sure, maybe you can ask for it additionally. There is also a big and fully equipped kitchen - I rarely see this in hostels. Owners are super friendly and listen to all the requests. Highly recommend staying here.

Ceylon Stayz is a very special place. I arrived in the early hours of the morning and in darkness walking up the steps I was doubting my choice. I'd been told to call a number and I'd be let in. I hate arriving so late but at 4 a.m I was greeted with the warmest smiling face. I apologised and was told ' Don't be sorry, it's not your fault what time the plane arrives'. Instantly I felt at home. I love the tall ceilings, the neutral colours. My room was perfect, the A.C was excellent and i had 2 wondefull full nights of sleep.. From first booking, Marsha the owner was so accomodating and extremely helpful. Days before you arrive you already feel like a guest. It was Marsha's father who let me in my first night. He is the Manager. In Ireland we have a saying, "The Apple doesn't fall too far from the Tree"! It certainly doesn't in this case. Marsha and her Father are peas in a pod. Two beautiful, kind, considerate and incredibly professional, hospitable hosts. Ceylon Stayz is 11 out of 10 for me. Well done to you both 👏 👍

Excellent hostel, with a great restaurant serving all day breakfast, lunch and dinner. We stayed in a private room and a dorm on two visits. The rooms are exceptionally clean, with cool AC and hot and powerful showers. Top quality facilities. The food is sublime, I had the egg kotu and ice cream, on both visits. The portion sizes are generous and the prices very sensible. I found the whole process very relaxing! I recommend this place without any hesitation. Please do message ahead if you are arriving late so that the staff can wait up for you. They don't always reply to WhatsApp so it's best to call ahead.

Very nice for solo traveller. Air conditions facilities good & everything is neat and clean. In washroom there is a free shampoo, face wash & towel. Free drinking water is also available. Hotel manager is a good person. Just 2 mins walking distance from galle face green.

New stylish high-end hotel (open since April 2025) with many rooms and a 24/7 reception. The rooms are very comfy, well equipped and offer you much space. They are highly cleaned and make you feel very welcome. The centre of Colombo is a 15-20 minutes TukTuk away, so the location is nice, too. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they even organized a late night taxi to the airport for us. I highly recommend this place.
