This is my home in Sri Lanka. I love the people, I love the lake, I love the THE CATS and the dog. Came here to stay for a few days, thought I could stay maybe for 2 weeks if I like it, and ended up staying for 4 weeks in total :) The location is perfect for me. It is away from the crowded areas, very close to the lake so you are surrounded by nature in a quite place basically. It is also not very far away from the town. So you can take the bike, rent the scooter, get on the local bus or tuktuk and it only takes a few minutes to reach to the town. The rooms are comfortable and clean, you can have a boat ride, you can use the kitchen and cook for yourself too. You can also have a cooking class for a small price. I had my best rice and curry here in this hostel. Thank you Berto, Sri, and Manee for having me. I can’t wait to come back again.

best hostel in hikkaduwa :) our private room was big, super clean and comfortable, I had the best shower in sri lanka, with hot water!! the hostel is also big and has many spaces to chill, do yoga, playing games (they have an amazing beerpong ;)) you will never be bored! there’s also a restaurant and a salon downstairs, I dif my hair there and I couldn’t be happier with the result!! also oday, the owner, is just amazing🫶🏼 he is so welcoming and friendly, we really spend a good time with him! also, he recommended us the best places in hikkaduwa and nearby, so thanks to him we had delicious meals, saw the best sunsets and visited the best places in the city, I strongly recommend this hostel :) we’ll come back for sure!

I stayed one night at White House & Seafood Restaurant in Hikkaduwa and had a lovely experience. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it a great place to rest. The location is excellent, with easy access to the beach and convenient options to walk, catch a tuk tuk, or hop on a bus to reach nearby tourist spots. What really stood out was how warm and welcoming the family was — it’s a genuinely friendly, family-run business that makes you feel at home. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Hikkaduwa.
