Walking distance from the airport entrance gate and Antarctic center, and from a big supermarket and a few food outlets. Semoga also close to a bus stop that can get us to the city center. Very well equipped kitchen with plenty of storage and cold storage for our stuff. Community hall very huge. Comfortable bed, pillow and blanket. Secure storage under bed. Very nice capsule with power outlet, individual light and small rack. Clean bathroom with soap.

Set in a refurbished 1874 building, Jailhouse Accommodation offers an on-site café and a guest lounge with a cinema projector. It is 10 minutes’ walk from Christchurch Railway Station.

I loved the Jail theme of this hostel, the idea of rooms being a prison cell is cool. The room was comfortable and the common area was big. Location of the hostel is top notch and all Christchurch attractions are walkable. Also plenty of restaurants next to the hostel. I also loved the fact that you don't need a physical card or key to unlock your room. I will definitely recommend this hostel.

It’s design and the small private bathrooms are cool. Really friendly staff und two kitchens plus communal areas come in handy as well. There’s always somebody to talk to which was nice while traveling alone!

Renovated in 2015, Urbanz offers accommodation in downtown Christchurch. The building features a range of rooms with either shared or private bathrooms.

The hostel is cute and cozy. The reception team is always ready to help. The common living room was very nice to sit at and relax. The beds are also very comfortable. The location of the hostel is perfect, city center easily reachable by walking.

The room/unit I had was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. There kitchen was equipped with the expected essentials and quite functional. There location was excellent for me.

I liked being close to the beach and the library. Also, having bus stops nearby was very handy. Staff were friendly and hospitable and the facilities were clean and tidy.

Chester St Backpackers is situated conveniently in the centre of Christchurch, and offers a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge.

Excellent location in the centre of Christchurch, bus stop just round the corner, 5 minute's walk. Excellent customer service, Manager / Owner very helpful and will go out of his way to ensure you have the perfect stay. Clean bathrooms, plenty of hot water for showers. Clean and tidy kitchens. Clean rooms with a comfortable bed. I loved the back garden and BBQ area the Manager / Owner has developed, a very homely, relaxing and comfortable place to spend the evening and meet up with fellow travelers from around the world. The next time I am in Christchurch I shall be back to stay at this hostel and shall recommend this accommodation to others while holidaying in Christchurch.
