Hotel is very cute, rooms normal size, location great. It has a very cute backyard, with restaurant/ bar, super positive vibes. Great place to socialize. Unfortunately we only spent half day as checked in late and had an early flight.

A new and modern hostel, that feels more like a nice hotel that happens to have bunk beds! The dorms have their own ensuite bathrooms, fluffy white towels and crisp bed linen provided. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Location is very central, just mind that the road is quite busy so it can be hard to stop directly in front of the hostel. Had a wonderful stay here, and returned for my last couple of nights before leaving the Azores!

Matriz 55 has it all and it doesn’t get much better than this… Only book this place if you’re looking for: - The perfect location of an Airbnb (it doesn’t get any more central… unless you want to sleep in the church) - The quality and attention to detail of a great hotel (nicest towels ever, room gets cleaned every day etc…) - The vibe of a hostel, where you could easily meet people. - But more than anything - The hospitality of a guest house, where the host will be truly dedicated to making yоu feel at home. Pedro and Susana might be the best hosts ever. Their hospitality and readiness to help is unmatched and they really made us feel like we’re visiting family.

We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay! The level of attention and care from the staff was exceptional, and they always went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They were incredibly accommodating and readily catered to our every request. Additionally, we were delighted by the optional program that was available for purchase. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip and allowed us to make the most of our time there. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of our stay and would highly recommend it to others.

It was very clean and well equiped! The owner is very friendly and helpfull. The hostel is in the city centre with everything on walking distance. I parked the car at Avenida D. Manuel I which is 500m and there is always plenty of parking space. I recommend the hostel and will visit it agian for sure.

I was very surprised as I opened the door and entered the hostel. Spacious modern room - loved the huge windows across the whole room with entry into a beautiful, very interesting garden with pond and many red fish in it, plus black tortoise. the furniture was very comfortable and liked the big table. The room was had many interesting features

    Great location, in the city centre but not on a main street which means no noises during the night but at same time 3 minutes walking to main square. We rented a car and there are city parkings on a street therefore relatively easy to park. Breakfast was delicious, room modern and big with great bathroom. The girl working at the hostel is really nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this place for anyone travelling to Ponta Delgada

    Hands down the best hostel I ever stayed in - the beds were clean and comfy with curtains, bathrooms had privacy and everything was very tidy. The location was amazing and we always found parking for free. The breakfasts were fresh and also very nice !

    Loved the breakfast, the garden, and how accommodating they were with luggage and use of the garden area before check in and after check out. They also called us a cheap taxi on our way out. Beautiful hostel, great private room! Eat at the restaurant downstairs, their food is incredible.

    The hostel has very friendly vibes. The guests can meet at a terrace with beautiful view to the ocean. The cleanliness was generally good. I felt very safe inside the hostel and even comfortable on the bunk bed - you can close the curtains and create a little "bedroom" of your own. Also the neighborhood felt very safe. It was my first experience with a hostel and taking into account the price and service, it was definitely not the last:)
