I had a very brief stay for an overnight layover so I didn't get much time to enjoy however it was great, the Family are lovely and very welcoming. The home cooked meal was delicious and the bed was very comfy.

What an oasis of calm Mgulani Lodge hotel offers. Having never been to Dar, we were so grateful of the The Salvation Army Compound this hostel is linked with, offering a space of tranquility in a city that feels like it never stops. It very quickly felt like a home away from home. And the staff were willing to help with anything you asked. It was a real pleasure meeting the team, and even better knowing any money they make off your room booking goes into helping other programmes that the organisation are running in Tanzania.
