I don't usually stay in hostels but I was pleasantly surprised by MedioMundo. The bed's were very comfortable and had curtains for added privacy. The bathrooms were spotless pretty much all the time. Would definitely recommend for a good value for money stay in Montevideo

Such a warm environment, you feel like family taken cared of. Location is just perfect; in a very quiet area, close to the city centre and the coast. Annette, the hostess, has created a beautiful environment that welcomed you into a home. You can really tell the love pit into this place.

Single room was spacious and comfortable, the street was quiet although well located within the old town. Josefina and the cleaning staff were particularly helpful and kind. Also, I could work from the common area with no issues. Happy with my stay and would come back

Our private room offered a lot of space. Also the common area is nice. The staff is amazing. Very helpful. There was a problem with the room and they solved it by the minute. They clean every day. The area is safe to walk at night. Friendly cats and dogs live here. We came back after a trip in Uruguay and would do so again.

The hosts are incredibly helpful and take the time to explain where to go in the city and how to get there. When an other person in the room got sick, they even brought soup and basic medication. The hostel is very clean and cozy. On top, its located closely to the beach and the old town is easily reachable by bus. I can definitively recommend the hostel and would immediately go back.

Lovely place, friendly and easy-going. The house is full of character and the roof looking over the docks is great. Ciudad Vieja is a good and interesting place to stay (tho it can feel a bit sketchy at night) - so if you're not bothered about shared bathrooms, overall this place is a treat.
