You mention location, initially this concerned me, but I discovered it to be quite convenient after all, with public transport as well as walking.

Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History is within 3 minutes' walk and Square-Victoria Metro Station is 8 minutes' walk away. Amazing hostel right in the heart of Old Montreal! The staff are super friendly and helpful (especially Alice and Sabina), and the volunteers also help to create a great atmosphere. This is not a party hostel (quiet hours start at 11pm), but it's nevertheless a great place to meet people from all over the world and even create lasting friendships. I was pleasantly surprised by the broad range of ages of people staying there, from families with young children to retirees in their 70s.
