The room was spacious enough and big round window is amazing. Cute and healthy breakfast was included. Don't forget to ask for your Basel card for free public transport and museum discounts.

Youth Hostel St. Alban features both bedrooms with private bathrooms and shared dormitory rooms. All have a minimalist design but are still extremely comfortable. Expect lots of wood furniture and large windows. ⭐ 5/5 – An Amazing Stay at Basel Youth Hostel I didn’t expect to be this impressed by a hostel, but Basel Youth Hostel really delivered. From the moment I arrived, I noticed how clean, spacious, and well-maintained everything was—it instantly felt comfortable. What truly stood out was the thick walls—finally, a hostel where you don’t hear everything through paper-thin dividers! It made a huge difference in sleep quality after a long journey. And the floor heating? A game-changer. That little touch made the space feel extra cozy, especially on colder days. Everything about my stay felt smooth and effortless, allowing me to just focus on enjoying Basel. If you’re looking for a place where you can rest properly, feel at ease, and trust that everything is well taken care of, this is it. Highly recommend!

The cafe offers a good breakfast, barista coffee, and simple meals. A communal kitchen can be used by all guests between 07:00 and 23:00. A selection of restaurants and bars can be found within walking distance of the hostel. The people here are very nice!

Wi-Fi is available free of charge. The facility was perfect (to me). The decor was exceptional, the space had a lot of charm, the neighbourhood was quite unique, and easily accessible from the main station whether you're arriving on foot or on public transit. As a bonus, as part of the stay I received a card which provided access to complimentary use of public transit within Basel. Everything was clean, organized, important information clearly provided by staff and well signed where appropriate. Additionally, they were happy to offer suggestions or recommendations about how to fill your time while in town - great ambassadors for Basel.
