The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. The room location and facilities were exceptional. I have to add that I booked a single room and therefore was moved to the neighboring Continental Park Hotel. So just something to take into account.

El Youth Hostel Locarno está rodeado por un jardín exuberante y se encuentra a 1,5 km de la estación de tren y del lago Mayor. i had to check in late due to a late night train, but the staffs were super helpful in ensuring that i manage to check in by myself. got a shared dorm all by myself and i thought the staffs were very considerate because i was pretty worried that i would wake the roommate during late night if i had one.

Highlight was having supper in the villages Restaurant Osteria Salzi (village square). Would recommend both to anyone hiking through on the Strada Alta and the Trans Swiss Route (Nr 2).

El Youth Hostel Bellinzona está situado en el centro histórico de Bellinzona, a solo 500 metros de los Tres Castillos de Bellinzona, declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. El personal fue super amable, el check in fue fácil y me dieron consejos sobre que hacer en la ciudad, y el día del check out pude dejar mi equipaje en un locker de forma gratuita. El entorno del hostel es muy bello, con la muralla de fondo. Tiene muchos espacios comunes. La ubicación no está mal.
