Location: Location was great, there are a lot of things you can do in Getsemani. It’s also super close from the old town, so you can actually walk everywhere with no need of uber or taxis. 10 minute walk from everywhere you’d want to go to. I made a group of friends on the first day, so I never had to walk alone at night. If I had to walk alone at night I wouldn’t have felt safe (especially as a girl), but Uber can fix that (they’re hard to catch though). Meeting people: I wouldn’t say this is a party hostel, or a super social hostel. They have an activity board for each day, but they don’t follow through all the time. They do have a WhatsApp group, where they post relevant information, but where you can also chat to other guests and try to meet people by your own means. I recommend just getting out there, asking on the group chat if anyone wants to hangout and you’re set to go! I meat a great group of solo traveler’s. Everyone wants to meet people!! Staff: super friendly staff, they’ll answer to all of your questions, and help you out! The breakfast ladies were lovely, remembered if you have any food allergies, and helped out with anything you might have needed! Facilites: The bunks are amazing. You have your own personal space, and there’s a black-out blind (which is not on the pictures I think), and that blind gives you the feeling of being in your own room. Everything is quite new, and super clean. They also have a beach “club” which they’ll take you for 40.000 pesos. It has a very nice vibe, and nice food. Wouldn’t say the beach is great but it was super nice to chill, or play beach volleyball. Here’s were I met everyone I hang out with :) Overall: super nice hostel, and most importantly: you can actually sleep and rest at night! since it isn’t a party hostel, it is super quiet at night, and it’s not close to a party street either. Great for remote work!
