I visited several hostels in Central America in the last months, and this was by far my favorite. The beds are comfortable and the dorm rooms have AC, the pool and hammocks amazing, the kitchen and bathrooms are practical and cleaned continuously, and the staff were super friendly and helpful! They can organise surf classes if you want :)

Fantastic breakfast and amazing staff that made me feel at home while on my first solo trip. Close to the night market, an awesome view point on the hill and a short walk to the beach!

The rooms will provide guests with a fridge. It felt so good to sleep in such a comfortable bed but in a tent - right in the middle of nature. You could gaze at the stars at night time and hear all of the beautiful nature around you. Misha and Jen are wonderful, friendly hosts who made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast (and conversation) were very much enjoyed :-) Thank you!

Hostel La Botella de Leche is 5 minutes’ walk from Tamarindo town centre and 1 hour’s drive from Daniel Oduber International Airport. The place has a great atmosphere with the pool, the living spaces and people hanging around.The hostel is neither too big or too small, the perfect balance between social/lively and quiet at night. As a solo traveler, it was easy to meet new people to chat with, to go surfing or to go out. The staff is very friendly and it was nice to arrange surfing lessons directly from the hostel (I ended up going everyday...). The surf lessons with our instructor Fifo was fun and his feedback helped me to improve a lot!
