The hostel is ran by a family who literally take care of you as if you are their family! The best hostel I have stayed in Costa Rica by far! . The location, rooms and facilities were a great place to hangout and chill with other travellers. There was hot showers, a fully fitted kitchen for communal use and the atmosphere was peaceful for a good nights sleep. Perfect location to visit Rincon De La Viejo. I also received free laundry and the kindness overall by the family was beyond words. I will always be eternally grateful for the hospitality thank you .

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Luis is amazing. He has a generous and kind soul. The hostel was very sociable and there was a very nice sharing dynamic. We cooked a lot of meals all together. There was a lot of spices to choose from as well as cooking oil which was very nice as most costa rica hostels dont offer this. The small common areas make it super propice to socialize with people. Nice clothing line to hang clothes. I felt like at home.

The king room was a huge separate building and one of the comfiest beds ever. Tons of space. The pool was so refreshing, I saw tons of birds and iguana. The people were really friendly, and the kitchen had what you need to cook + some coffee in the morning. I appreciated that it was a little out of the way of the busy part of town, ~a 10 minute walk from the main stuff in town

The genuine kindness of our hosts was really moving.... Letting us taste different types of juices...helping us to plan our visit to the volcano areas and helping our son who had a skinburn on his arms. The lodge itself is very authentic. The garden benefits from more than 40 years of carefully maintenance with lots of love..with flowers and trees you think you find yourself in a botanical garden. Hummingbirds are flying around your head during breakfast. And finally...the food was gorgeous...homegrown vegetables and fruits and produces such as ricotta cheese..very royal quantities...your own grand mother would not have spoiled you so well. Wonderful Hostel! It really made us feel like home. All the staff is so friendly that you feel living in a big family home. The rooms are confortable and easy to sleep with AC. The kitchen is always lively and we loved to cook there. The hostel is so close to the beach, like 5min walk, and also close to market, the bus stop and restaurants while been in a quiet area to relax. There is surf lessons offered and Mati is an amazing teacher, so knowledgeable about the sea and how to teach the proper position on the board. Really recomended! We stayed for 12 data hoping it could be more.
