What a qonderful experience I had at this hostel. Met so many amazing people, I did not want to go back home! Extra clean wherever you went, huge kitchen for cooking without hassle, perfect location near beaches and transportation. They hosted daily activities to connect, the bed were comfortable. In general I had THE best time there.

Beautiful gardens active with birds and animals, including a sloth. The nearby beach was nearly deserted, but for the nesting Leatherback turtles, it seemed ideal. The restaurant served gourmet food. The menu was varied. The Curry to die for!

El Clan Hostel está en Puerto Viejo, a 5 min a pie de Playa Negra, y dispone de alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, parking privado gratis, jardín y bar. El hostel es muy lindo. El personal muy amable Los días que estuve yo no se organizaron actividades lamentablemente. En la entrada hay un bar que tiene música en vivo, no pertenece al hostel creo, pero suma para la experiencia.

El Hostel del Patio tiene jardín, terraza, restaurante y bar en Tortuguero. El alojamiento está a 3 min a pie de Playa de Tortuguero. TODO!!!! El mejor lugar para hospedarte en tortuguero, rodeado de naturaleza pero a la misma vez conecta con el mejor restaurante del lugar en donde podes comer riquísimo y tomarte algo mirando el atardecer en el río. Y el hostel es muy lindo y su personal muy amable.

Tasty Dayz Hostel está en Puerto Viejo, a 2 min a pie de Playa Cocles, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y restaurante. The ambience location and staff/people here really made it a great stay. We only stayed here 2 nights but spent many nights here hanging out before our stay. Highly recommend.

Madre Selva Hostel está en Puerto Viejo, a 10 min a pie de Playa Cocles, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. Hermoso lugar dentro de la naturaleza, pude ver animales como perezoso, tucanes, mariposas y a la vez cerca de la playa. El personal súper atento y el lugar muy limpio siempre y el ambiente muy buena onda!! Lo súper recomiendo!

Chinitas Eco Lodge se encuentra en Tortuguero, a pocos pasos de Playa de Tortuguero, y ofrece mostrador de información turística, habitaciones libres de humo, jardín, wifi gratis y terraza. Chinitas Eco-Lodge is in San Francisco, a quiet village north of Tortuguero. We booked the deluxe queen room: perfect for our family, basic but clean, with good AC, and surprisingly bug-free! Breakfast was tasty, with coffee/tea, fruit, and a hot platter, and there are several wonderful hammocks for relaxing by the river. However, the best part our stay were the people: 1) Ana, one of the owners, was so warm and helpful (and patient with my attempts at basic Spanish) and her staff were equally friendly; and 2) Owen the tour guide was FANTASTIC: he has such passion for conservation, has a a sharp eye for spotting wildlife, and was instrumental in getting us to the right spots for turtle nesting. Strongly recommend booking the morning Canal tour as well as the late night Turtle tour with Owen, and booking the lodge in general if you want a welcoming, authentic experience!
