Chugchilán
The units in the hostel are equipped with a coffee machine, a computer and a laptop. Every room has a kettle, while certain rooms here will provide you with a patio and others also provide guests with city views. All rooms in Lagoon Hotel Chugchilan are fitted with free toiletries and a CD player. This was easily one of our favorite stays on the loop! A lot of the popular places feel pretty commercialised, so it was refreshing to go off the beaten path and find this absolute gem. The sweetest lady welcomed us, she was warm, helpful, and really took care of us. The rooms were super comfortable, and both breakfast and lunch were included (we even got to pick the time!). Lunch packets were available for just $3, which was perfect for hiking days. Bonus points for the cozy common room with lots of games and even a fireplace. Highly recommend!

This hostel was everything we could have asked for on our two night stop through the Quilotoa loop. Our room and bed was super cozy and the shower very nice. The staff here is wonderful, all super helpful and attentive. The included dinner is very nice, but the breakfast was truly lovely and more than we expected - A big bowl of lovely fruit, two pancakes, a fried egg, a cup of fruity yoghurt, oats and jam up for graps as well as all the coffee and tea you want, throughout the whole day in fact. I can recommend staying two nights and hiking up to the cheese factory on the “off”-day, free of the big backpacks ;). We didn’t try the spa cause we never really felt like it, but that is surely also super nice!
Another great thing was the company of other nice people from different parts of the world. We had a lot to talk about with our different backgrounds and common experiences in Ecuador.

This is one of the best hostels i ve stayed. Is like being home because everything is just perfect and the owners are very warm and helpful and make you feel a member of the family Is in perfect position for hiking the Quilotoa loop and the dinner and breakfast are very good. Wonderful family and very comfortable place! Don't miss it!
Wow! The quality of this hostel is outstanding and it's cheap! The rooms are huge with very comfortable beds, many blankets and a modern and clean bathroom. The hot water was brilliant after a long day hiking the Quilotoa Loop. The dinner and breakfast included were delicious - we had the vegetarian option. They also sell drinks, snacks and packed lunches for your hike. Best hotel in Chugchilán!
Cheap. Comfortable room . Good wifi. Nice third floor to chill. Taxi 1.5 usd from bus terminal but you can catch buses to Quito in front of shopping mall 900m from the hostel, easier. Kitchen. (Only 4 people can sit)
Really cozy low-budget place. The host is very friendly. You can rent everything you for the hiking tours in the surroundings at the hostel. Big plus: you can see the Cotopaxi Volcano from the roof terrace and the host welcomed us with local shots.
This place is exceptionel, best hostel I've stayed at in Ecuador, best hotel given the price, and such kind and helpful staff. In fact, we ended up staying an extra night and doing a day tour, instead of continuing on the Quilotoa Loop, simply because we liked it here so much. Shower, food, atmosphere, everything is perfect. The WiFi is good for where you are, so don't expect any teleconferencing.
