Set in the heart of Ponferrada's historic centre, Albergue Guiana is just 2 minutes' walk from the Templars Castle, Encina Basilica and the Museum of Bierzo y de la Radio. Very nice Albergue. Great staff, nice kitchen with coffee machine, microwave and a good size lobby to relax. I am doing the camino with my mother, 82 years old. She loved the place, so we stayed an extra night.

The place is like a hidden gem in a small village before Sahagun. It is run by a lovely Italian family and their warm and sunny personality makes you feel like at home. A very clean dormitory and showers, but the most exciting was their food. I was looking forward to their meal sooooo much after spending several days walking the camino and eating watery soups and tortilla…And yes, that dinner was absolutely delicious, very generous servings and made the same way as you can get the meal in Italy homecooked by mamma italiana❤️We ate pasta with pesto and cheese, meat balls with peas and mixed salad and full fat greek yogurt with strawberry sauce and nuts for dessert. Yummy😋I was so full I didn ´t eat anything the following day and walked 38km👍Do yourself a favor, stay there overnight (forget sleeping in Sahagun), eat their delish meal and have fun👏🌞

Just right behind the cathedral. Easy access to many main attractions and happening bar restaurants. But at night the street is quiet and not busy, which I very surprised to that. They even provide towels, shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer!

The room was cozy, and with only four guests, sitting down with the owners for dinner felt like a family dinner. The food was excellent, freshly made salads and specialty pizzas. Also loved the decor.
