Basecamp Wales offers family-run hostel accommodation in Llanllyfni, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and 30.3 km from Pen-Y-Pass and 8.2 km to the beach at Dinas Dinlle. Nice place, clean room. Big and well equipped shared kitchen. The staff is very friendly. There are also some lamas and the kids were happy to feed them.

I booked my stay very last minute after a change of plan. The bunkhouse was clean, tidy and warm when I arrived and I had good communication from the wardens. I love this bunkhouse for its location and amazing drying room to hang all my adventure kit!

Location is great - right across from a nature walk. A very very nice stay & I even extended another night. Book direct. A quick bus ride to Betws-y-Coed for more natural parks. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was pleasant. We booked 2 rooms for 8 persons including 5 adults and 3 childrens. They have got double bed and bunk beds in each room so we were able to sleep comfortably. The hostel has got a fully loaded kitchen, dining which helped us in preparing fresh breakfast every morning and also it has got a lounge where stuff like boards games, piano is available for guests. Placed at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass is surrounded by stunning Welsh landscape in a rural location, with no mobile phone signal - offering guests a break from... I chose YHA firstly for its perfect location. I arrived in the evening just in time to enjoy the sunset. And then I had the best birthday morning enjoying my coffee with a wonderful view before exploring The Miners Track (the path starts literally 10 meters from the hostel). The staff are lovely. And the famous British breakfast (I had veggie version though) kept me energized till the end of my adventure. When I can feel my legs again and decide to do the Snowdon summit one more time, I will not think twice to stay here again.
