Basecamp Wales offers family-run hostel accommodation in Llanllyfni, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and 30.3 km from Pen-Y-Pass and 8.2 km to the beach at Dinas Dinlle. Excellent well run hostel. Hosts were very friendly & helpful, giving advice on tourist routes etc. Room was comfy & spotless. Shared kitchen was best equipped ever experienced. Good location for seeing North Wales. Really good value accommodation. Highly recommended.

It exceeded my expectations 👌 It has a gorgeous view and the location is perfect. Just a few steps away is the bus stop that takes you to the park entrance to start climbing and exploring the mountain. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless, and the shower is amazing, steaming hot with good water pressure. You enjoy taking a shower like at home. They also provide shampoo and shower gel, which is amazing in case we forget. The beds are very comfortable, and they include a towel, which is a plus I loved.

Every detail was well thought out and the host was welcoming, helpful and kind. View was fantastic. Food excellent.

Our room was very comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and functioned well. The dining and living areas were well-kept. The basement dining room is really lovely - ancient and rare. Continental breakfast with multiple options. Location was exceptional. Plenty of public street parking and paid parking nearby. We found a free spot to use overnight. If we had needed to pay, it was minimal. I highly recommend this hostel.

Our stay was pleasant. We booked 2 rooms for 8 persons including 5 adults and 3 childrens. They have got double bed and bunk beds in each room so we were able to sleep comfortably. The hostel has got a fully loaded kitchen, dining which helped us in preparing fresh breakfast every morning and also it has got a lounge where stuff like boards games, piano is available for guests. Jamie the host has been kind enough to us to accommodate each of our request and overall we enjoyed the stay, Regarding location, llangolen is a small town, therefore the location was central

Placed at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass is surrounded by stunning Welsh landscape in a rural location, with no mobile phone signal - offering guests a break from... I chose YHA firstly for its perfect location. I arrived in the evening just in time to enjoy the sunset. And then I had the best birthday morning enjoying my coffee with a wonderful view before exploring The Miners Track (the path starts literally 10 meters from the hostel). The staff are lovely. And the famous British breakfast (I had veggie version though) kept me energized till the end of my adventure. When I can feel my legs again and decide to do the Snowdon summit one more time, I will not think twice to stay here again.
