Very cosy and very comfy 24/7 facilities. It is possible to self check in at any hour, and there is basic food to purchase in the kitchen too at any hour - quite handy (tea, coffee, beer, oatmeal, instant noodle etc). The common area is very neat and nice - i spent quite a lot of time there, chilling after a hike, cooking and eating food and even working on my laptop. I stayed in a female only dorm, that has 6 comfy beds, and there were 2 toilets and 2 showers just for our room, so i never had to wait to have a shower etc. There are hair dryers available, and a whole separate drying room both for laundry and wet clothes after a hike. Beds were perfect, pillows were perfect, not creaky as in some dorms. With very good quality bedsheets and towels. Overall, if i am in betws y coed again, i will certainly stay in Gwersyll Cyntaf Eryri.

Very nice position close to the S1 stop and good self-catering facilities including a nice kitchen. The bed is comfy and i had the room of my own in the first day. Michelle and Helen are lovely people. Will choose here again if I come again. PS. it seems that it is cheaper if you book via their own website.

Built in 19th century, this 4-star hostel is within 40 km of Portmeirion and 44 km of Llandudno Pier. The property is non-smoking and is situated 13 km from Snowdon. What an absolute gem of a place to stay! The owners were very welcoming, the hostel is spotlessly clean, and such a quirky set up being an old school. Loved that! Highly recommend a stay! I arrived at night but waking up early and seeing the views from the hostel was lovely, its in a beautiful spot! Please take the time to wander along the road to the old slate quarry, well worth a visit!

I arrived in the evening just in time to enjoy the sunset. And then I had the best birthday morning enjoying my coffee with a wonderful view before exploring The Miners Track (the path starts literally 10 meters from the hostel). The staff are lovely. And the famous British breakfast (I had veggie version though) kept me energized till the end of my adventure. When I can feel my legs again and decide to do the Snowdon summit one more time, I will not think twice to stay here again.
