I was so attracted by the garden decor, who gathered up also the guests staying in the hostel so you could easily meet new people :) The check in, carried by Rik, was one of the best I ever had! It may just be a “check-in” but that first impression lasts forever! Super friendly and welcoming from right away. Rooms were big and equipped with 3 toilets.

The tour desk is available to assist guests in planning their days out. I really liked the atmosphere at the Kumba Hostel, it is beautifully decorated with African pieces of art and I loved that. I learned that Kumba means Home. It has vast and cozy common areas which is great. It is also very clean and well maintained. My bed had a blind which provides extra privacy in a shared dorm. The girls at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The coffee you can drink there is one of the best in Chania in my opinion. I would definitely recommend Kumba Hostel to everyone planning to visit Crete.

So Young Hostel is situated in Heraklio Town, a 4-minute walk from Heraklion Archaeological Museum and 400 metres from Venetian Walls. Popular points of interest around the property include Municipal Museum of the Battle of Crete and the National Resistance and Koules. Attractions in the area include The Minoan Palace of Knossos, 5 km away. Very nice vibe at the hostel! Great place to meet other travellers. Clean and cozy. Super friendly and helpful staff. Made a lot of new friends.

Sofia was so nice and kind. The room was perfect for our needs, and the location was great as well. A very good value stay.

It's quite spacious and in a decent location (20-30 minutes walk from the center), with easy parking. Amazing for its price
