We were looking for a clean, calm, quiet, non-smoking, non-drinking place to stay. And we found it here! We loved much natural light through windows (I don't feel comfortable in rooms without windows and I am sure that many foreigners feel like me.) We kept the windows open and enjoyed the clean and fresh air. The environment is so quiet, that most of the time we could enjoy the eagles' voice. A mosque is nearby, you can listen to their prayers, too. We didn't mind it at all. The location is not central, but if you are looking for a calm and peaceful stay, you can find it here, and can reach sights easily. We rented a bike for transportation during our holiday. No smoking and no alcohol is our basic lifestyle and we are happy, that we could find a place where we could avoid smoking and drinking people. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. We liked the nice interiors and simple decoration. The bed was comfortable with a special mattress. As a guest in Moonshine Homestay you become a part of a loving and caring family. We got much help, even before our arrival. Thank you for all recommendations and advice. We hope we can go back soon.

At the hostel, the rooms are equipped with a terrace. The premises are clean, organised, well-equipped and ventilated along with a WiFi. The hosts are warm and responsive. They are fairly receptive and are constantly upgrading their facilities on the basis of feedback and otherwise. The manager/caretaker Bhupinder uncle is a delightful person, helpful and reasonably flexible. They offer help in navigation to the hostel and elsewhere if the need be. There's a budget restaurant right there. The spacious lounge area and garden adds to the experience. Kudos to Ashish (owner) for conceiving and knitting it all together. All in all, it's a pleasant experience worth revisiting.

As a solo traveler, I’ve had my share of not-so-great experiences, but this was the exact opposite. Bashrat and Monika were the sweetest hosts you could ask for. Khursheed bhai, Faizan bhai, and everyone else were always there to help with anything I needed. And Danish bhai’s food? Incredible—he makes the best poha! I also got to meet some amazing people and build great connections. The view from the hostel is stunning, too. Everything about this place was just perfect!

The area is popular for cycling, and car hire is available at the hostel. Rooms were clean and well maintained, special thing is that they have electric Blanket.... because sonmarg is too cold as compared to Gulmarg and srinagar. And the host is supercool n very helpful....

These houseboats are designed in such a way that u feel like you are staying in a royal palace. Breakfast and dinner are served inside the houseboats. People can enjoy their meals along with the view of river I would recommend everyone to stay for long period.
