Excellent location, extremely clean, quiet, well equipped with everything you might need: There's a kitchen (you wish something - it's already there!), dinning room, extremely clean bathroom and toilets, library, loby with social games and pool.... One of the best experiences ever! Highly recommend!

Set a 10-minute walk from central Akureyri, this family-owned hostel offers basic rooms with a TV and free Wi-Fi access. Iceland’s Ring Road/Route 1 is right next to the hostel.

Akureyri Golf Club is 5 km from the hostel. Hlidarfjall Ski Centre is within 10 minutes’ drive. Discounts are available for guests with certain restaurants and activities such as whale watching. It was so clean and tidy, but warm and welcoming too.

Located in Dalvík, 44 km from Hof - Cultural Center and Conference Hall, Dalvík Hostel Gimli provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, and luggage storage for guests. We were warmly welcomed by Bjarni and had such a comfortable and cosy stay. The room was warm, the bed comfortable, the shower hot with good pressure and the kitchen was fully equipped. Thank you for having us, it felt like home :) also - the hosts have a great cafe walking distance, recommend going!

All units at the hostel are equipped with a shared bathroom equipped with a shower. One of the best mountain cabins I´ve ever been – mind that it’s a Icelandic cabin (almost hostel) and not a hotel, so you must adjust your expectations accordingly. It has a spacious dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 showers, 3 toilets and all was super clean thanks to the great staff (I hope Karolina repeats next year). It can of course get busy when it’s full, but much better than the ones I stayed around. A nice plus that you can rent bedding if you don’t have a sleeping bag.

Meals and drinks can be enjoyed in Backpackers Akureyri’s on-site bar and café. A buffet breakfast is served each morning. We liked the hostel although it was not in our plans. We were stuck in Akureyri due to weather conditions and wrong tires in the rental car and stayed for one night there. Luckily, one of the staff , Ewa from Poland was there and everything was sorted out! She is not just kind but caring and genuinely helpful. The sightseeing of Akureyri is Ewa!
