The rooms are cute and cozy. Very convenient location to catch the ferry to Grimsey.

Situated in central Akureyri, Akureyri Backpackers offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with access to shared bathroom facilities. A swimming pool and hot tubs are a 1-minute walk away. Really nice. Location is perfect and we even decided to extend our stay for one more night. Highly recommended place. Quite cheap for the quality you get!

The staff was super friendly and let us know that there was a walk we could take down to the beach. This was one of the highlights of our trip as we saw whales and seals down at the beach and could walk to the famous rock. The hostel was very cozy and we were able to do laundry and also cook a meal.
