Yuki San is an exceptional host, after arriving earlier has no problem showing me the property and also gave me very useful tips about places around - where to eat, where to surf, and where to go onsen. Whole property has a really nice and friendly atmosphere as well as the whole Shimoda. Yuki also provides bikes, which moves the whole experience to a different level. This hostel is so lovely, one of my favourites so far. It's in an old building which is beautiful and a short walk from the railway station and the castle. The women's dorm is only four people so nice and small. You have traditional futon mattresses on a mat floor and curtains around your area. The washing machine is free to use, there are free bikes, free tea and coffee. The staff are lovely. I really wanted to come back again but they were fully booked unsurprisingly!
