Guest house tokonoma on yugeshima and the 3 islands its connected was by far the highlight of our holiday. Forget about the shimanami kaido. Go to yugeshima, ride the loop there and do the yumeshima kaido and disappear into a real life ghibli movie. These 4 connected islands are absolutely stunning and so serene and quiet they dont even have traffic lights. The people are so kind, the views are breathtaking, and you are virtually the only tourist! This is a very rare experience. Yasu san is a great host, he helped us get the most out of the short time we had on the islands and he’s just overall a very nice person. The guests were great to, good vibes all around.

Communication was exceptional. Quick response to questions and extremely helpful. House is spacious, clean and modern. Great equipment to cook in the kitchen which was great with a family. Comfortable beds and the bathroom was great. Really good to have the washing machine available. Warm place with heat pumps in every room. Loved it. The lady who welcomed us and say goodbye was super kind and lovely.

At the hostel, the rooms have a balcony with a mountain view. With a shared bathroom fitted with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at 海に恋する泊まれる喫茶店 ポパイ also feature a sea view. All rooms will provide guests with a fridge. a very homey, retro vibe feel. As if it were our granny's house. love the ambiance and also the bed is comfy. it has that very woody calming scent. They also offered simple, self service breakfast. And we def could enjoy our breakfast whilst enjoying the seto sea from the big windows on those big leathery dinner chairs. And oh, it is litteraly a min walk from the station.

Offering simple dormitory accommodation with shared bathrooms is Hotel Eco Dogo, just a 5-minute walk from Dogo-Onsen Train Station and a 2-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Main Building. A free-use internet station, rental bicycles and kitchen appliances are available. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of all the attractions we wanted to enjoy. After picking up my daughter from Matsuyama Airport, we parked our rental car across from the hotel for the first night, then moved it to the city’s free parking spots for the next two days. We didn't use the car again until we departed, choosing to explore Dogo on foot, soak in the onsen, and savor delicious regional food. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. When one of their washing machines malfunctioned and ate our coins, they refunded the money so we could complete our laundry. We enjoyed sleeping on futons to experience the traditional Japanese style. If you are looking for a clean, reasonable accommodation so you can use the extra money for gorgeous sets of Ehime food, such as Tai meshi, this place is it. We will come back again!
