The optional Japanese breakfast is highly recommended--tasty and filling. For other meals guests use microwave and hot-water kettle to fix their own food. Quiet location with the gentle sound of the surf. I am on a bicycle ride and found the location ideal: A day's ride from Amami via Route 81, then a loop to Kasarizaka Lighthouse at northern end of island, then a ride south on Route 58.

Run by the sweetest couple and their children, they really make you feel like family. It was always so clean and the cafe on the first floor was delicious. Kabuki is the best host ever, who will take you out on the best adventures and get great footage on his drone. I can’t wait to come back!!
