It had a nice feel to it. On a quiet street and a short walk from the train station. Everything is newly finished by the owner himself, who is interested in sustainability and local community. The bed was comfortable and the sleeping pod was spacious and well designed. The pods give yiu privacy even if you’re staying with others in the shared room. I had an enjoyable night and this was a good value for money. Beyond that, Takumi (owner) was super friendly and accommodating. His property is a DIY place that he’s built out and is a fun place for building a community. There is a central area to sit and eat, which is a nice way to meet other travelers. If you’re traveling through and want to meet locals and others, I think this would be a great little hub.

Open in April 2017, IZA Enoshima Guest House and Bar is located just a 3-minute walk from Enoshima Station and a 5-minute stroll from Katase-Enoshima Station. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This was probably my comfiest sleep of the whole trip, despite my being in a top bunk, something I was a little nervous about. The amenities, shower area and space are very good for a cheap room too. I didn't partake in the bar area but it looked decent and well stocked and there was plenty of options nearby too. Absolutely would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We love the Japanese room. (The futons were very comfortable.) The shared dining / living room was also very charming with old Japanese house feel. The shared bathroom and toilets were also very clean. The staffs were very friendly. We love all the little turtle decorations and also the selection of complimentary teas available.
