The staff is very kind and smiling all the time. Perfect location, 7 min from Hakone yumoto train station on foot. Excellent and delicious minimalist breakfast. Nice tea selection for free. Designated smoking are just makes you want to smoke :). Close to bus stop for routes needed for sightseeing. Didnt feel like leaving the building, thats how pretty it is. Would definitely stay there again!

This guesthouse has a warm, welcoming vibe and is among my favourite accommodations in Japan. The old traditional building, with the cafe in the front and the garden at the back provide a memorable stay in Kawagoe. The staff is very friendly and I had a great time socialising with other guests. It is clean, comfortable and relaxing.

Featuring a shared lounge, the 2-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. The property is non-smoking and is set 200 metres from Komagatado. It was my first capsule-like hostel experience and I'm really glad that I had it here. The capsules are very comfortable, you have a lot of place around your mattress to place your things. The pod room is really quiet. The bath was always clean and I never had to wait. You can get a small breakfast for a fair price as well. The location is great, two minutes walk to Asakusa station. Hiro, Erika and the complete staff were really nice and helpful whenever you had any questions. Thanks a lot for the stay.

So clean, they clean everyday and it’s always spotless. The host is so lovely. Her dog is so cute and friendly too! Sometimes he’ll greet you at the door, this meant so much to me especially when I was missing my dog at home. The neighborhood is AMAZING. I love Koenji so much. A perfect, calm getaway from the city with still plenty of things to do. Great restaurants, thrifting, karaoke, parks, and Japanese vibes. Also Nakano is a 20 min walk away and they have a mall with Uniqlo and everything else you’d need. It’s easy to meet other people and make friends! Women-only was awesome and made me feel really safe. I can’t wait to go back and spend my entire Japan trip here. I shouldn’t have bothered with any other hotels. Nothing compares to Grapehouse Koenji!
