The bikes provided make it easy to explore the town and different surf spots, and the selection of boards for rent is great. Emi and her family were always available if I needed anything, they are so kind offering helpful recommendations and even giving me a ride on a rainy day. They also invited me to join them for surf sessions, which was an unforgettable experience. I ended up extending my stay because it was such a great place, and I can’t wait to return someday!

The owner is extremely helpful and kind, and made my short stay in Saiki a lot more meaningful and enjoyable than I expected.

The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a concierge service and luggage storage for guests. Great location next to the train station and close to local onsen. You can receive discounted price at reception if you are interested. Breakfast was simple but fresh and very tasty. Hostel is very pretty, traditional, wooden house and has great atmosphere. 2 common spaces could be used for relaxing. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Castle ruins are close, around 20-30 minutes by walk, highly recommended to visit. There is also tourist Kyushu OLLE: Okubungo trail between train stations Bungo Taketa and Asaji. We didn't have time to visit, but looked interesting.
