This hostel is so lovely, one of my favourites so far. It's in an old building which is beautiful and a short walk from the railway station and the castle. The women's dorm is only four people so nice and small. You have traditional futon mattresses on a mat floor and curtains around your area. The washing machine is free to use, there are free bikes, free tea and coffee. The staff are lovely. I really wanted to come back again but they were fully booked unsurprisingly!

My party of 5 total stayed only one night when hiking the Magome to Nagiso section of the Nakasendo. Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

Hakuba Cortina Ski Area is 14 km from the hostel, while Togakushi Shrine is 41 km away. Matsumoto Airport is 67 km from the property. I loved the experience here. Each and every one of the staff made my time in this lodge an absolute pleasure. Seriously, these guys get it. Clean, fun, convenient, close to Lawsons (thats important for those late night urgers hahaha). I'm stoked I decided to book here and would do so again in a heartbeat. Keep it up guys!

The staff are pleasant and very accommodating. The general vibe was exceptional, including amongst other guests. I’m a solo female traveler and stayed in the mixed dormitory but I had 0 discomfort. The host runs several shuttles in the mornings to drop off patrons in the morning, so we can then take the town shuttle to get to different ski resorts etc, as well as evening shuttles to pick you up from town and take you back to the guesthouse.

This one is by far the best! The crew is second to none, such a nice gang of friendly and caring people! The shuttles to the ski resorts and free shuttles to the Onsen made it the perfect place to stay! Breakfast was perfect as well! Immaculate vibes! Will be back!

The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, and luggage storage for guests. A Great stay in Nagano. Close to the Zenkoji temple. I had fallen off my bike when I arrived and the lovely staff helped me patch up my injuries. They were able to provide me with great restaurant and bar recommendations too. Bed was very comfortable and the place felt very cosy.

There are large sofas and a big TV in the lounge area, making it a perfect place to kick back and relax after spending a day on the ski slopes or hiking the trails. The property offers free luggage and ski storage services, and offers discount lift tickets. Laundry facilities can be used for free. Amazing Aussie breakfast with generous portions and everyday menu is different, cosy living area, friendly staff, decent location, very good drying room that can efficiently dry the snowboarding equipment.
