The host is super friendly and helpful, the house is a clean and stylish old japanese-style house, local people were amazing and the location was very convenient. Just a 3min walk from the station. And the beach is right next to the hostel, so it’s easy to go for a quick dip. Also the tourist center is very close, so you can easily go and rent a bike etc and explore a bit further. The atmosphere at Susami was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to have an authentic Japanese countryside experience and enjoy quiet and relaxed time. I stayed for a week but could have easily stayed for even longer! おすすめです！

The beds were comfortable. The well equipped shared kitchen is spacious and offers a large fridge with freezer as well as a table for having dinner with four people. We would definitely come back. It is only a short drive to the zoo and other activities as well as shirahama beach and the beautiful coastline.

The facilities and staff were excellent. It reminded me of some of the best hostels on my Camino. It also had a great social atmosphere and I met several interesting people doing the Kumano Kodo. Their delicious plum products were a delightful treat and a testament to the region’s agricultural heritage. It was wonderful to support a local business and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Overall, this B&B is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable experience. From the serene surroundings to the cozy accommodations and the warm hospitality, it’s a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Japan’s countryside.

Room was comfortable, they provided all amenities needed. The house is very clean and has a usable kitchen as well. Good location close to Shingu Station, stores and food!
