Much nicer location than touristy Sigirya and they will help drop you off at the station by tuktuk. Very unique experience staying in the middle of the jungle and you feel like you're part of a big hostel family :)

Night Owl Hostel Sigiriya situa-se em Sigiriya, a 4 km de Rochedo de Sigiriya e a 5,9 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala. I’m from Japan!! This was such a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, and above all, the people are amazing. Kani is extremely friendly and kind. He did so many things for me!! I also admire his way of thinking—he truly values encounters and connections with people. You can see it not only in his words, but also in his actions. Thank you for the precious experience in Sigiriya!! Highly recommended!!! Some people may think it’s a bit far from Sigiriya Rock, but actually the entrance is on the west side, and I believe this is one of the few places within walking distance around there.

There was a pool in the bedroom of the king suite, which was amazing, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I also enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner that was included.

The Travel Tree Hostel encontra-se em Sigiriya, a 1,5 km de Rochedo de Sigiriya e a 4,7 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala. Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at during my time in Sri Lanka. The place is clean and comfortable, breakfast was always delicious, and the one dinner I had there turned out to be the best meal of my trip — tasty, generous, and great quality. What really made it special was the people. Maliya was so kind and helpful, always there if I needed anything. He even took me to a beautiful sunset spot nearby and walked me to the bus stop when I checked out. Those small gestures really meant a lot and made the stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!

The atmosphere was peaceful, making it a great place to relax after exploring Sigiriya.

Hakuna Matata Hostel situa-se em Sigiriya, a 3,3 km de Rochedo de Sigiriya e a 6,5 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala. We unexpectedly found ourselves in the heart of the Sri Lankan jungle at Hakuna Matata Hostel — and for just £5 a night with breakfast included. Yes, five! My teenage daughter couldn’t help but quip, “Mum, you make us look broke.” But this isn’t being broke — this is backpacking at its finest: affordable, raw, and bursting with adventure. Surrounded by towering trees, the sounds of birds, and monkeys rustling through jackfruit trees, this place is truly a hidden gem. I’ll admit, I only booked one night to test the waters, but with a perfect 10/10 rating from travellers across the globe (not just locals), I took a chance. I'm so glad I did. We had to reroute our entire trip due to heavy monsoon rains and limited accommodation options elsewhere. What began as a backup plan turned into the highlight of our journey. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and sincerity: “While you stay with us, you are part of our family.” And they meant it. No inflated tourist prices, no rehearsed smiles — just genuine people and heartfelt hospitality. The rooms are simple but clean and cosy with mosquito nets, and the atmosphere is something you can’t buy: peace, community, and a true slice of authentic Sri Lanka. We've stayed in far more expensive places on this trip, but none have matched the soul we found here. In a country where tourist traps can leave you feeling like a walking wallet, this place was refreshingly honest. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Would I come back? I extended another 3 nights. For £5 a night? It’s not about saving money — it’s about gaining perspective. This is the kind of rich that stays with you.

Sigiri Village Vibe Hostel encontra-se em Sigiriya, a 13 minutos a pé de Rochedo de Sigiriya e a 2,5 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala. De tudo!! Hostel recente, a família proprietária é fantástica e tudo fazem para nos sentirmos bem! Excelente relação qualidade/preço! Limpeza impecável! A comida confeccionada pela mãe é deliciosa!! Os crepes de coco foram a minha perdição! Não está no centro da povoação, o que é óptimo, mas está a 10 minutos a pé ou 200 rupias de tuc tuc. Existe um pequeno restaurante e loja da familia mesmo ao lado que pode servir na esplanada do hostel bebidas frescas, aperitivos, comida, bolachas e chocolates, etc. O proprietário organizou me todas as visitas a Dambula, Polonnaruwa e ao Lion Rock! Adorei estes 3 dias e o preço é muito pouco para a qualidade do alojamento!! Obrigado por tudo!!

Hello Aliya Hostel localiza-se em Sigiriya, a 13 minutos a pé de Rochedo de Sigiriya, e fornece acomodações com um jardim, estacionamento privado gratuito e um terraço. Staying at Hello Aliya feels less like a hostel and more like staying at an old friend’s house. The owner Isu is incredibly kind and respectful. The hostel is brand new so everything is incredibly clean. It is situated just off the main road. 2 minute walk to the bus stop, 10 mins walk to the entrance of Lion’s Rock, and a 10 minute drive to Pidurangala peak. I really enjoyed my stay there. As a solo woman, I felt safe and welcomed. The breakfast is lovely and the staff even taught me how to play carrom. After one month of traveling Sri Lanka, this is by far my favorite hostel.
