This was my first time staying in a hostel, and honestly, Some Place Else exceeded every expectation—it was even better than staying at a hotel. The entire space is modern, clean, and clearly designed with love and attention to detail. As a solo traveler, I often feel a bit lonely on the road, but that wasn’t the case here. The hostel offers social activities every night, making it super easy to meet people. I made friends by my second night! It’s truly a great place to connect with other travelers from all over the world. The beds were comfortable and spotless, with great lighting and excellent air quality. Bathrooms and showers are ALWAYS clean, with hot and cold water available around the clock. Despite the social atmosphere, the vibe was calm and relaxing when you needed downtime. I especially loved the co-working space, kitchen and rooftop—perfect spots to unwind alone or hang out with new friends. The location is also ideal, right in the heart of Georgetown. I’m already planning to come back just to stay here again. Can’t recommend it enough—Some Place Else is a gem!

We stayed at 2 different Aayu locations while in Penang and this one was our favorite! It's a bit more quiet near Beach Street, which we enjoyed. The location was really good, near to the jetties and food markets. Wi-Fi was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room had plenty of space. There were plenty of bathrooms around, filtered water in the kitchen, and a nice area to hang out in. They also send you some great recommendations for food and sights to see upon arrival.

O local é bem limpo e tem opções para lavar a roupa! Tem muitas tomadas próximas a cama e o ambiente é silencioso e confortável!

Apresentando um jardim, terraço e vistas da cidade, Bitterswiit Ladies Hostel situa-se em George Town, a 2 km de Northam Beach. The host is very helpful. our flight was very late. but he was waiting for us till the midnight. gave us useful information. The hostel is like traditional penang old house. looks like a museum. Really nice experience~ strongly recommend~

Clean, tidy, comfortable, quiet, modern with all necessary facilities. Dorms have no windows but it did not bother me as they are spacious enough. AC works perfectly. Communication with the staff was smooth and helpful.

The location was very convenient as it is close to a lot of local eateries and bus stops that goes places. It is also close to a lot of the main attractions in george town. The room that I had was spacious and what I expected it to be. Bed was comfortable. The showers and toilets are plentiful in numbers albeit a little bit cramped in my opinion. PS: this place is self check in. They do have someone on site and they do send out a text message on whats app about the password for the main door and the room door. Just make sure you get the text message from them prior to your visit here. Communication is prompt and concise.

A cerca de 1,8 km de Centro Comercial Penang Times Square e a 7,7 km de Centro Comercial Straits Quay, Aayu Chulia - Chulia St, George Town apresenta quartos em George Town. The location is amazing, you are close to bus stop, convenience stores, restaurants, street food. The guest house has everything to make your stay very comfortable, the WiFi works very good and there is cold water and snacks all day. The communication with the host is also amazing, he is very helpful and answer very quickly.

I really enjoyed my stay at Aayu sekchuan. The building has a lovely heritage charm but feels modern and well-kept inside. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is super convenient, with lots of food, cafes, and sights within walking distance. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again next time I’m in Penang!
