All rooms at the hostel are fitted with a seating area. All units at Rancho Tranquillo are equipped with a private bathroom and bed linen. The ranch is beautiful and spaceous with lots of hammocks and spots to hang out. Daniela and Tony are the absolute best, so kind and helpful. There is only one dorm, so not that many people, and because of that it feels like a small family. The ranch is 15 minute walk from the town/ferry, so it is nice and quiet. The breakfasts are amazing and really good value, and one day we had a family dinner, which was delicious. You are surrounded by animals and flowers and trees, even mango-trees which you can help yourself from! They organise volcano tour (with delicious packed lunch), kayak and laundry if you need. This was my favourite place to stay on my trip, everyone should go visit this ranch!!

The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. Without a doubt the best hostel I've stayed at throughout the entire Central America. The huts are tucked away in a lush tropical garden and it is a little heaven of peace and calm. This is not a party hostel and I loved the chill vibe. The only sounds you'll hear are the birds (hence the name of the hostel). I was in an 8-bed dorm which was a bit tight but each bed has its own fan the the bed was comfortable - I slept like a baby. The facilities are super clean, one of rare places that sorts out trash for recycling, there is a lovely terrace and upper chillout area where you can see the Concepcion volcano. They offer breakfast at a good price and the typical Nica breakfast was delicious. There's a different evening meal on offer every day but I didn't try any. The staff were really kind and helped me organise a few things such as kayaking, transport, bike, etc. If I ever go back to Ometepe, I will definitely book this place again. Excellent!

Guests can enjoy Chinese and British dishes at the restaurant or have a cocktail at the bar. I loved the atmosphere of the hostel. In the evening time they had candles everywhere and lights. It was so beautiful. They also have a lookout place where you can see the volcano during the day and stars at night time. It was a super quiet and chill place. They also had kitties which is a big bonus.

She helped us with everything, we got sick and she literally took care of us. The location is great and the rooms are big enough with private bathroom, the breakfast was amazing as well.

We offer various types of hospitality like private rooms, dormitories, camping areas and hammocks. We are in the Nicaraguan Ometepe Island, on the jungle slopes of the volcano Maderas 30km from the port town of Moyogalpa, between Santa Cruz and Balgue . The place is completely located in nature. It’s so lovely and beautiful. They have nice activities! I love the permaculture project and the 2hours-free yoga every morning. I also really liked the mushroom tour and the pizza night with psytrance music. You also can rent scooter and go to the waterfalls. The stuff and the volunteers are super nice and helpful and the food is super delicious.

There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service. This stay was great for the price that we paid for two air conditioned rooms. The rooms were very accommodating for our travel group of 5 ppl in one family room and 1 person in the other private room.Great restaurants in walking distance. Staff at the hostel is very friendly and helpful. Eventhough, we paid for air conditioning in the rooms- there was also two great fans to circulate the cold air 😇 there is also parking at the hostel for personal vehicle or motorcycles Upon seeing other hostels in the area this one looked far superior and unique .

The authenticity and the little bit of magic that is here makes this place an amazing stay! By far coolest hostel. Having a nice big kitchen and fire pit makes it feel like home. The animals and the fruit trees. The stories about each of the caravans. If your looking for a vibe this is it!

At the hostel, every room is equipped with a patio with a garden view. All units at Sophie House are equipped with a private bathroom and bed linen. It’s a bit aside from the port city Moyogalpa, so it’s very calm and almost no cars and people here, but still easy to reach by foot from the Centre (15 min walk). It has breakfast included and it’s home cooked food by the family. My room was very spacious, with 1 double and 1 single bed. They had outlets outside and inside, so i could work online here. Ask for both WiFi passwords! The host family was very nice and always tried to help, like when I needed a dentist they found a number. They don’t speak English (as most locals here) but with my broken Spanish and google translate we always understood each other. You can also ask them about the laundry option. Thanks for hosting me!

Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.
