The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property. The woman working at reception was exceptionally wonderful, friendly and helpful. I was running behind schedule and was going to be late for my tour at of Hobbiton when I checked in, and she was quick to see that I was a little stressed. She was able to call Hobbiton (as I didn't have a working phone to call) to help reschedule my tour to a later time, and then proceeded to give me a quick run-down of the hostel before I got back on the road for my tour. I am very grateful for her assistance.

The beds are really comfy and the area was quiet. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well-equipped and kept very clean.

Children are permitted to stay at Rotorua Central Backpackers but must be accompanied by an adult and either stay in a private room or a privatised dorm. An accompanying adult, staying in the hostel at the same time, can provide consent for a child to stay in a private room alone. Good location. Super good staff and service, very helpful staff
