Renovated in 2015, Urbanz offers accommodation in downtown Christchurch. The building features a range of rooms with either shared or private bathrooms. Loved it so much I came back twice. Great price, very comfortable beds with outlets. Private toilets and showers, large updated kitchen that is really nice and lots of places to sit. Not the most social and a little far from any grocery stores but walkable to all the main attractions. A good 10 mins walk from the intercity bus stop but 3 mins to the bus stop that takes you to the airport.

I had a lovely stay at Dolphin Lodge! Really cute accommodation and not like your typical hostel experience - the people there were very friendly and the vibe was very relaxed. The kitchen was equipped with all the essentials, and the views from the living room and backyard are amazing. Perfect spot for a swim!

Probably the comfiest bed I've ever slept in at a hostel. Easy to check in and out, good location. Hot showers with the added benefit of shampoo and conditioner. For a 36 year old woman, I can't complain!
