Rooms were spacious and there was a great view to the outside. Common space was roomy and kitchen was clean. It had a "mature backpacker" vibe and people were very friendly.

We stayed here 3 times over one 2 month trip. The last time it was peak season and full,
despite being quite new, so we were lucky to get a room. Great, comfortable facilities and often friendly atmosphere in the communal areas to share hiking and day trip tips, although you also have the option to keep to yourselves. Feels cared for and a nice atmosphere. Large collection of DVDs a nice touch!

This is a nice hostel in a great location, just a block from the lake and close to lots of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. The bathrooms are very clean, there are lots of couches to lounge on, and there's laundry on site. The kitchen is well equipped. Best of all, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Barnyard Backpackers is quiet, offering great budget accommodation for families. The view from the bungalows was also pretty special! The staff were also very friendly and had endless patience for my curious daughter.
