Under new management from mid 2022 and just 80 metres from Paihia Beach, Peppertree Lodge features a barbecue area with outdoor seating. It’s just really cool. Got to meet lots of people from other countries. The communal aspect was good.

The Cell Block Backpackers hostel is a refurbished 1960's jailhouse, converted in to colourful accommodation. Great place to stay, interesting building, well equipped kitchen, nice roof terrace, friendly staff. Great location, close to bars and restaurants, and a big supermarket. Good value.
